Summer Fun

We didn't have much going on this past week. One of the days (when it wasn't raining for once) we set up the pool in our backyard. Kayden and Tyler splashed around while Tyson and Maya and I watched.
Tuesday I got called in to work, so all three boys headed to Grammy's house to hang out with Amazih and Grandpa most of the day. Then, Tuesday night, since we were already in Albany, we decided to head to Amazih's softball game. Kayden and Tyler were able to play on the school's playground with Daddy, which they loved!
We didn't camp this weekend because Mike is on call, but we did head out to the campground where Mike's parents were camping so that the kids could go in the pool. This was Tyler's first time actually swimming. He seemed to really like it. They were in the water with Mike and Mike's mom who had Sydney. Karsyn was there, but isn't a big fan of water. I'm pretty sure Daddy and Grandma had their hands full.
After a semi-busy weekend you'd think Kayden would have been tired last night. Well, I must have let him nap too long during the day, because he was awake until 1:00 this morning!! Thank God I don't have to work today~~it looks like Mommy will be napping today too!
We will spend the rest of the week getting ready for our long weekend camping trip this coming weekend for the 4th of July. We are also having Tyson's baptism on Sunday, so we have lots to do!

Father's Day Weekend

Every year we spend Father's Day weekend with the Frericks family. We head out to a farm near Freeport and we set up campers and tents and then we have one big meal where most of the family members get together. There are LOTS of great-grandkids so the kids have lots of fun playing, and since our camper is there, they can take their normal naps, etc. It's always a fun, relaxing weekend. This year, we even did a hay ride to Mike's aunt and uncle's farm where Kayden was able to see lots of cows and even touch a few big ones and let the calves suck on his fingers---needless to say, he was in heaven!
Late Sunday afternoon we headed to my parent's to celebrate Father's Day with my dad and my grandpa. We grilled supper there, and the boys got to play outside. We decided to give them a bath before we left "grammy's", since it was getting close to bedtime anyway. So, they boys were bathed and in their pj's and we headed home in time to get everyone to bed at a decent time after a long, eventful weekend.
Tyson had his 2 month check up this morning. So, we took Kayden and Tyler to daycare and Tyson and I headed to the clinic. He is a whopping 12 pounds 9 ounces (71%)and 24 inches long(86%), and his head is in the 66th percentile, which is a change from his "large-headed" big brothers=) The doctor said everything looked good, and before we left we scheduled Tysons 4 month appointment and Tyler's 15 month appointment for the same day, which got me a few funny looks from the appointment scheduling girl ;)

Milestones

Here are a few of the things each of our boys is enjoying these days:
Kayden, AKA: Mr. Attitude. Kayden is a huge help. He loves to hold Tyson, and he is always willing to play with Tyler so that I can get things done. Although, the playing usually turns into wrestling. Kayden loves to do anything with his dad. Fishing, washing the truck, wrestling, anything outside. He also loves animals, movies, and any game that involves a ball. There are many nights he falls asleep watching the Twins.
Tyler has finally mastered the art of walking within the past week. He is still a little wobbly, but is getting around. This should help save some of his pants for Tyson to wear. I was getting a little worried the way he was wearing out the knees of all his pants. He loves to play with his big brother and he will throw anything you put in his hand--balls, food, toys, cups...
We are working on getting rid of his bottle, which is a little more difficult with Tyson still getting bottles. Tyler sees them, and he wants them NOW!
Tyler is just starting to say a few words, he will say "ma-ma" and "ball". I'm pretty sure Kaydens first word was ball too!
Tyson is just going with the flow. He is a very happy baby. He doesn't mind the constant noise around here at all! He isn't sleeping through the night yet, but hopefully that will come soon. Within the past week he has really started to respond to us with smiles and even a little cooing.
I've added a few pictures of the boys for your enjoyment ;)

A summer field trip

This morning I packed up all three boys (with the help of Rhonda) and we drove to Little Falls to meet Leah and Sydney at the Pine Grove Zoo. We had a lot of fun. It was a cheap little field trip, and not far from home. Admission was free for kids 3 and under, which meant that we didn't have to pay for any of our kids to get in, just $5 per adult. They had lots of animals, and we were able to have lunch at their little concession stand, which was also very reasonably priced. Tyson slept until we sat down for lunch, Tyler did well being strapped in the stroller, and Kayden was in and out of the stroller checking everything out. Needless to say, all three boys fell asleep on the way home, and Kayden and Tyler are still napping!

Trying something new...

I have decided to try something new (in all my spare time). I have heard that blogging can be a way to not only share happenings and information with family and friends, but it can also be an excellent way to keep track of all the little things that happen in our daily lives. I thought I'd try it out. I am hoping I can post to keep family and friends up to date on all the exciting things that happen in a house full of boys, and also have something to look back on to remember things that I might otherwise not record or remember. We'll see how I do!
